SUMMARY:World Diabetes Congress
DESCRIPTION:Experts in diabetes care from around the world will exchange diabetes research and best practices. Physicians\, scientists\, nurses\, educators and other healthcare professionals\, as well as government officials\, policy makers and representatives from 230 IDF Member Associations will gather to learn\, discover and connect. \nThe cutting-edge scientific programme will be made up of 220 hours of sessions split into 6 streams. With talks from around 350 speakers and over 1000 posters being presented\, the World Diabetes Congress is a great learning experience. Up to 80 global exhibitors will be presenting their latest research\, products and medical advances. \nThe WDC 2015 will coincide with the expiration of the current Millennium Development Goals and the adoption of the new Post-2015 Development Framework\, a major push for expanded access to diabetes prevention\, treatment and a cure. \n  \nMore information on registration\nfor the conference in Vancouver\, Canada\, can be found here.\nThe programme is available here.

SUMMARY:2015 Conference of Partners of the European Innovation Partnership on Active & Healthy Ageing
DESCRIPTION:The 2015 Conference of Partners of the European Innovation Partnership on Active & Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA) that will be held in Brussels on the 9th (from 15:00 CET) and 10th December 2015 (all day). This year’s Conference of Partners is dedicated to the theme “Accelerating market uptake of active and healthy ageing innovation across Europe.” \nThe Conference aims at generating an open discussion about the achievements so far and the future vision for the Partnership\, which is now at a crucial stage of its development. \nProgramme of the Conference \nThis year’s Conference of Partners is about focusing on and accelerating delivery towards the 2020 targets. \nIn order to support large-scale deployment of innovative solutions for active and healthy ageing\, the European Commission has launched a number of initiatives. These initiatives are linked to the Scaling up Strategy of the EIP on AHA and it will be discussed how to maximise the impact of some of these opportunities in the course of the Conference. \nRegional and local organisations\, academia\, health and care organisations who have made significant contributions to large-scale deployment of innovation will be invited to present their experiences and share the outcomes of their investments\, in order to recognise and showcase their excellent work in deploying innovative solutions for active and healthy ageing. \nThe revamped EIP on AHA Portal and the Repository of Innovative Practices will be unveiled. External speakers will be invited to explore new synergies with other EU and global initiatives on active and healthy ageing. \nA preliminary programme is available on the website. \nRegistration\nAs in previous years\, the Conference of Partners is by invitation only. Registrations will open on the 6th November 2015 at 12:00 CET at https://ec.europa.eu/digital-agenda/events/cf/eip-aha-4th-conference/register.cfm . \nRegistrations will close once maximum capacity has been reached so it is recommendable to register early.

SUMMARY:EUREGHA High Level Conference
DESCRIPTION:On 11 December\, EUREGHA High Level Conference will be held in Brussels. This year’s theme will be “Linking Chronic Diseases and Frailty; Creating Synergies and Collaboration between Efficient Policies for Disease Prevention and Management at European and Subnational Level”. Introductory remarks will be given by Mr Xavier Prats Monné\, Director-General of the Directorate General for Health and Food Safety of the European Commission. \nWith chronic diseases being the main cause of death in Europe\, affecting more than 80% of people aged over 65\, and frailty being intimately linked to the ageing population and chronic diseases\, the conference aims to discuss the links between frailty and chronic diseases. Concrete tools and strategies available to promote the prevention and management of chronic diseases and/or frailty at European\, regional and local level will also be highlighted. Representatives from the European Institutions will further participate in an interactive panel discussion on how health systems can strengthen health promotion and prevention to tackle chronic diseases and frailty.\n \nMore information here
